Jim's Pumpkins 2001 Part 2 |

|

LAST UPDATED 11/14/2001
I've been busy this year, more than any
other year, I beleive. Jennifer got me started early (late September), and we've
been carving ever since! Here is a simple photo album of my latest creations!
If you see a photo that interests you, and
you would like a high resolution copy, feel free to send me email and, time permitting, I
will email a copy to you. These high resolution images are 1600 X 1200 pixels, jpeg
compressed and are 250KB - 500KB in size. Family and friends get presidence of my
time when requesting high res copies.
This is the largest of the albums provided,
so I've broken it into 3 parts. This is part two. Part
1 is located here, and Part 3 is located here.
To view the images, just click on the
thumbnail image on the left. Use your browser BACK button to return to this index.
The images are about 30KB - 40KB and will take a few seconds to load.
ENJOY!

In light of the September 11th
attack on the USA and the resultant heroism displayed by our nations firemen and women, I
decided to carve a pumpkin for our local fire department. This is 1 of 3 images on
this pumpkin, showing 2 firemen rescuing a victim. Below, I also have a panoramic of
this whole pumpkin. |
 |
The face of this pumpkin shows an
outline of the United States rendered with the Stars & Stripes of the American flag.
Posing in front of this image is the Statue of Liberty, symbol of freedom and
liberty for the United States. In the upper right I've included the maltise cross,
symbol of the nations fire departments |
 |
The 3rd image on this pumpkin
shows 2 firemen (from the back) battling a fire with a fire hose. |
 |
This is a panoramic of the fire
department pumpkin, showing all 3 images. Needless to say, the Merrimack, NH Fire
Department was very pleased with this gift. |
 |
Ophilia: This is a wonderful
rendering of a woman with her hands outstretched, as if to be reaching for something or
making an impassioned plee. I was very please with how well this pumpkin came out. |

bright star light in her veil |

I carved this for a friend at
work, for her boyfriend, who is an avid fisherman. This first of two images shows a
fly fisherman netting his catch. |
 |
The second image on this fishing
pumpkin shows a largemouth bass ready to strike that poor little worm... |
 |
This is an unit version of the
fishing pumpkin, showing the bass striking. |

When our locak channel 9 (WMUR)
filmed a segment on my pumpkins, this is the display we provided for them. |
 |
I wanted to carve a special
pumpkin for my friend Ron (who went to Alaska with me). He loved seeing the eagles,
that were everywhere along the Kenia river. This pumpkin shows 2 images, and one is
that of an eagles head, nestled in the pines. This is the unlit version |
 |

eagle. |
 |
On the other side of this pumpkin,
I rendered an image of Ron from our trip. This is a profile of ron, sitting in the
boat as we drift for King Salmon. This was a great picture of Ron and worked very
well on the pumpkin. This is the unlit version |
 |
This is the lit version of that
pumpkin. I've included the photo that was used to render this pumkin. As you
can see, it came out quite well |
 |
This is the sketch I've applied to
a pumpkin, before carving it. This shows the Harley Davidson logo with the image of
a Harley 1200 Sportster motor cycle. This is the unlit version. |

Harley Davidson pumpkin. I love this one! |

My great friend Jo-Anne owns this
most beautiful old colonial home set on a beautiful 10 acre site along the Souhegan river
in Merrimack. The farm was originally called Hickory Hollow Farm and had this quaint
covered bridge leading you to her home. The bridge is long since gone, but there are
photo's. For her birthday this year, I carved this pumpkin. This is the unlit
version. |

Farm pumpkin. I just love it! |
