Some old photos of a 3.3:1 scaled up Mars Lander. The body tubes and shrouds were all hand fabricated from 1/64" aircraft plywood. The model was designed to use a 5 engine cluster (central 24mm with 4 outboard 18mm). This model will be uprated to use a central 29mm with outboard 24mm. I gotta stay with the cluster, just GOTTA!

oh man, that is SO KEWL! maiden flight of my Maxi Mars Lander. Rose to about 100 feet, chuts (dual 36" silk) deployed at apogee for a very soft decent! |
