Pointing the other direction, I captured this image of the entrance to the mine shaft.  You can see a portion of the rail curving into the opening in the bottom center.  The floor is strewn with rocks and debris from minor cave-ins.  Along the top of the mine, you can see what appears to be wire, perhaps to bring electricity for lights deep into the shaft.
